St. Louis Cardinals at San Francisco Giants (3:45 PM ET)
Don’t look now, but the Giants are playing great ball again. They’ve won five games straight, including the last three against the Cardinals. Today, the Giants will look to sweep and will start their ace, Logan Webb. We normally would not be thrilled to back an ace with 4.40 ERA and a record of 1-4, but things are weird in San Francisco right now. A glance at Webb’s advanced data reveals that a reversal could be imminent. In his most recent start, the 26-year-old right-hander struck out eight batters while allowing only two runs over seven quality innings. Webb's xERA (3.47) . Webb will pitch today against a lackluster Cards offense (with the exception of the hot-hitting Paul Goldschmidt) and he will do so at home, where he has allowed just three earned runs in his last 13 innings.
